You can probably still remember as a child the parental adage that would go something like this 'You better eat your vegetables or you won't grow up strong'.

It's actually a fact that many foods taste awkward specially some of the vegetables. Regarding the taste, this will be up to the person eating the vegetable.

It is a fact that vegetables are essential to the health. They contain vitamins, essential minerals, and fiber which is necessary for a healthy diet. They also vary in texture and color.

Although there are many good supplements which provide these essential vitamins and minerals, we know that nature tends to provide what we need in just the right amounts and combinations that our body can easily digest. With this in mind, it is important to train your kids to eat vegetables. However, its really not easy feeding kids with veggies - is there an easy way to do it?

A good approach is to prepare vegetables that are easy to eat and with sweet taste then eventually try to add bit and pieces of other vegetables on the meal. You can try putting sugar on your meal or add squash. To make it more palatable to children you can saute the vegetable on butter or garlic. A few of the best tasting vegetables are cauliflower as well as broccoli when sauted or cooked with sauce. That mask the taste that you get when you either boil or heat interactive vegetables in some other way..

Of course, a lot of us will also agree that other fruits taste better as they are or uncooked. Nature seems to have a way of making them taste that way. The tomato is one of the many vegetables that tastes really good without being cooked which you can simply eat right from the garden. Also, carrots can be the sweetest vegetable depending on how they're grown. This is not the case with most tuber type vegetables like rutabagas and turnips.

Like potatoes and squash, these can be prepared with butter or other seasoning and taste is not bad.

Boiling vegetables is probably the worst way of making it edible. All the while if you saute your vegetable you'll be preserving its natural taste as well as all the essential benefits you can get from the vegetable. You can also have a better taste if you prepare your vegetables Al Dente style or half cooked.

No matter how you put it, vegetables are still the best source of essential proteins, vitamins and minerals that the body. Getting your children to eat them is not difficult if you use your imagination, consider what they like, and prepare those that are not so tasteful in ways that seem to mask the taste. This way, you know your children are getting their essential vitamins and minerals in a form that nature provides for maximum digestion.
