Entertainment comes in many forms. There is no one in this world who would not like to be entertained. Wrestling as a form of entertainment is a sport in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Japan. It came to be an international event in the 1980s with the development of WWF. The history of professional wrestling is long though, dating back to the early nineteenth century.

The sport has come from far and different changes have been witnessed. In 1920s it was seen as a legitimate sport. It started in small groups in 1980s that were formed by people who wanted to have something of their own. It was a form of entertainment in North America, Latin America, Japan, and Europe.

The sport was viewed as an international game in 1990s. Internationalism was made possible by the expansion of world wrestling federation popularly known as WWF. The game later received high financial support from the Extreme Champion Wrestling, World Champion Federation, and World Champion Wrestling.

Wrestlers were arranged in a pyramid of fame and money. This was based precisely on the ability of the athlete and talent. The juniors and amateurs included young performers and journeymen who joined the carnival for fame and to get fans. Wrestlers were called shooters for their ability to shoot and battle real competitions. These professional wrestlers were more competitive, successful, and not so much common to people.

The sport has come a long way to become what it is today. In the 1920s it was only a legitimate sport. Its nature has changed dramatically to better fit in television, enhancing story lines and character traits. Many wrestlers have become celebrities of the known culture through television.

People referred to it as golden age for entertainment industry. The character and professionalism of the wrestlers changed as a result of television appeal. It was easier and entertaining to watch people competing in wrestle matches because it they brought in drama and humor. Production was also cheap those days. In the years 1948 to 1955 major television networks aired these shows.

Wrestling is the oldest sport. It has a record of history in the ancient civilizations. Catch and catch style is a modern way of the game that was introduced by the United States and United Kingdom during the 19th century. The older form of the game which was practiced before the 19th century was referred to as Greco Roman style. This style prohibited grabbing below the waist. The catch and catch style differed and allowed holding above and below the waist.Both styles were popular and legitimate part-time and professional sports.

The history of professional wrestling has changed with time. Change was also experienced in expert wrestlers. Many of them joined the ranks of business. The game enrolled new wrestlers who were not athletes who were popular in the competitive arenas. The new wrestlers were not only competing but also looking for ways to become superstars. For this reason the sport was disregarded by televisions. Even in this generation, it is still a platform used for rising to fame and making money.
