In Ozark gymnastics is a form of sport which entails execution of exercises that require balance, agility, physical strength, flexibility, coordination, and power. At the international scale, the sport is controlled by (FIG), an international federation. This federation ensures that required standards in the game are observed at all global competitions. All nations on the globe have national authorities that have some association with the FIG in one way or another.

The sport is categorized into numerous disciplines including aerobic, acrobatic, tumbling, team gym, artistic, rhythmic, and trampolining gymnastics. Participants might be of any age, ranging from children of under two years to grownups from both genders. Hopefuls who want to become worldwide gymnasts begin exercising at a young age and take specialty in one or several disciplines. This sport might also be performed for recreational reasons besides being a global competitive game.

Judges deduct points from the initial ten points at the start of the session to the end. However, there is a more recent technique of giving marks presently used in the United States in elite level competitions.

The new score is called a difficulty score, and it brings the number of scores used to two. On the difficulty score, points are not deducted like in the execution score, rather they are awarded. The difficulty score bases on the element a gymnast performs and can change depending on whether one does not perform of finish all the skills. It also depends on whether one connects a skill to the other as required or not.

The most known gains in difficulty scores are connection bonuses. Connection of aspects is the awarding factor here since it is considered skillful to connect 2 or more flight components. Moreover, it is very difficult to connect skills to each other if the initial skill is not done perfectly in the first place. Difficulty score allows gymnasts to gain more scores basing on how hard the events they perform are and how correctly they are executed. There is no boundary to the score one may gain here.

Many events are done singly by an individual while others involve groups or pairs. Group and pair events need a lot of synchronism and concentration among all gymnasts involved because the failure of one participant affects the whole team. There is also several pieces of equipment used in various skills of every event.

Ozark gymnastics bases on perfecting skills learned. Gymnasts go through coaching for years before they perform on international platforms. Many gymnasts warm up before taking part in events so as to be prepared emotionally and physically.
